The Firm

Carstens & Cahoon, LLP was founded on January 1, 1998 by patent attorneys David Carstens and Colin Cahoon as an intellectual property firm based in Dallas, Texas. The Firm moved to its present location in the Galleria area of North Dallas a few months later. The Firm has maintained a summer law clerk program since its inception, and the Firm's first law clerk, Vincent Allen, was named a partner in 2005.

From a start of just three lawyers and two support staff, Carstens & Cahoon has grown to become one of the largest law firms in the Texas and the Southwest dedicated to intellectual property. The Firm celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2008, and we look forward to continuing our relationships with our clients, associated firms, and friends.
